Which convertible Mercedes-Benz are the largest in exterior size?

Wednesday Nov 25, 2009

Is there a exterior size comparison chart anywhere online? (Inches, photos?)
I am looking at the 1996 – 2006 group, could I make it a larger range? LOL! Ideally, 2003 – 2005.

Remember the SEC series?
Those are the largest.
2003 and newer? I would go for CLK series, it is just as large as the ‘E’class.
One more thing I like to highlight, the CLK inherited the electronic extension ‘arm’ from SEC series for the safety belts holding.

The CLK. It’s like an E-Class but a coupe/convertable.

Possibly the 300S made up till about 1960. I’ve seen one that once belonged to Bing Crosby and it was pretty big. There might have been a few of the old "Pullman" 600 models of the late 60s built as convertibles, they were mostly hand built so anything is possible. They were probably bigger than anything made these days.

I would think an E class convertible, the dimensions would be the same as any 2 door coupe. Please specify a year or range of years if you want a more exact answer.

The PULLMAN 600 Cabrio should be the largest MBz ever built outside of custom models.

Depends on what kind of convertible you’re looking for, and at what price range. There are two types of Merc Convertibles: folding metal hard-top and canvas roof. The best of the folding hard tops in my opinion is the current-generation SL class, while the best (albeit only) folding canvas roof is the CLK. Both are great cars, although pricy!
