I am looking to buy a sports car. I would like to get the best deal for my money. I’ve got a price cap of $10,000 so I’m obviously looking for a used one. The main concerns I’m having are reliability and maintenance costs. But I would like for the car to have the most power and handling for my budget. I would like a manual 2 door, convertible would be nice but not a must. The cars I’m considering are below, but I’m open to other suggestions. What do you think? Thanks

If you want reliability and low maintenance costs, scratch the TT, Crossfire, Z3, SLK probably the RX-8 from your list. Any of those you’ll find in your price range will be high mileage, and the German cars are more expensive to maintain than the Japanese cars. The Crossfire has Mercedes engine and tranny, so don’t think of it as American.
MR2 and S2000 will be more reliable.
Also, add the Mazda MX5/Miata to your shopping list, it’s cheaper than an RX8 and more reliable/cheaper to maintain with a conventional engine. You might also be able to find a 350Z in your price range.
Don’t forget to have whatever you choose inspected by a mechanic prior to purchase.

My mum bought me and my brother a 2009 Mercedes-Benz Convertible for around 50grand (new) a little while ago, btu I notice that alot of kids actuallly dont own cars, they like use their parents’ cars.

It’s my parents but I drive it everyday except for winter. My dad has a bmw but he drives the truck in the winter because he doesn’t want the bmw to rust or something like that.

190SL Solex 44PHH carbs are hard to work with when worn out. But fully machined and rebuilt properly the Solex 44PHH works very well. Shown here are a set of freshly rebuilt carbs and proper tuning proceedures. The airflow meter is a Syncrometer, available on-line and the perfect tool for the job. One of the tests of the Solex 44PHH carb’s condition is their ability to idle well and at the correct rpm. At the end of the video you will see these carbs idle the engine at between 275-300 rpm.
