If I started a museum for cars(historical, modern & concept)what would you want to see there?

Wednesday May 13, 2009

Ideally, your cars should break some kind of record, have been given some kind of award, have been iconic in some way, have been uniquely designed or filled a special role in motoring not filled by many other cars. On the other hand, you might want to include the very worst cars in history also.
I might include these and many other cars:Mercedes benz Patent Motorwagen(1880s)Model T Ford Tourer(1915),a 1920s or 1930s Rolls Royce,a World War 2 Jeep,VW Beetle 1100 Standard(1949),a range of Chevrolet Corvettes,Citroen 2CV type A, Mercedes benz SL 300 Coupe(1954),Jaguar E-Type,Jaguar Mk 2,De Lorean,Dodge Viper GTS-R,Ford GT 40 & GT (21st century),Honda Dualnote,Honda NSXR,Mazda RX8,Nisan GTR(2001),Suzuki GSXR4,Bugatti Veyron,VW W12 Nardo,Audi R8,BMW V12 LMR,Pescarolo C60,Mitsubishi Lancer,Subaru Impreza, etc, etc…
Please list as many cars as you like, listing the make, model and trim and engine specifiactions, giving the reason why they should have a place in this museum.

Mitsubishi Lancer EX 2000 turbo (group B homogolation car from the 80’s, not the EVO. I’ve got 2 and will sell one of them!)
Fastest saloon car of the 80’s, 170 BHP from the factory, a forgotten cult Icon.

Ford Capri Mark 1 1.6 GT – the car that started it all off, budget sports motoring.

Vauxhall Chevette 2.3 HS – Another Group B homogolation vehicle from the 80’s – example of Mainstream companies putting big engines into small cars.

Truimph Acclaim – shining example of how not to mate English and Japanese technology.

Toyota Pickup – Iconic SE Asian / African / Middle Eastern workhorse, for an example of solid efficient engineering.

Alfasud Ti – Example of why the Italian Car industry is so shockingly bad.

Trabant – Eastern european. Simple in design and use.

Citreon SM Maserati- Eccentricity for the masses.

Datsun 240Z – 1970’s Car that sold well in the USA and the UK, proving that overseas marketing can work here.

How much would a Mercedes C-Class sports coupe cost? Is it good for a first time driver?

Wednesday May 6, 2009

Mercedes C Class Sports Coupe (like the one above) One appeared in the paper today- a 2002 Black C200 one. It has original interior, no accidents but a fewscratches. How much would that cost? And as a first time driver is that good?
How about looking in the last section of most car magazines? Apart from tech-specs, performance data from independent test drivers, you can also find price listings for new ones as well as old ones. This should give you an idea of how much to expect.
